Hvac Filters

 Hvac Filters

Modern heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems are outfitted with HVAC filters, integral parts of an HVAC system. The main purpose of these air filters is to keep the circulating air flow within the building clean and of quality. The air filter hvac prevents air contaminants such as dirt, dust, pollen and others from entering the indoor environment. Aside from affecting the air flow, filters can improve the efficiency and life service of an HVAC system. This is done by keeping the system safe from airborne particles and debris that may enter the system and cause damage.

Air filter HVAC works by supplying a barrier located within the system, between the air inlet and its moving components. When air enters the system, particles that came along with it are blocked by the filter cleansing the drawn air as it passes through. Present in some HVAC units are air conditioning filters at the air intake and ventilation filters at the exhaust, providing extra protection from air pollutants.

Air Filter Types

There are different air filters for every HVAC system. In residential HVAC units, panel filters are usually used. This filter type is flat and square or rectangular shape, like a panel. Panel filters shield the coils, motors and fans of an HVAC system from impurities. Another type is the electrostatic filters that employ static electricity to get rid of particle concentrates from air. Available also are the washable filters of foam material. By name, these filters can be washed to be used again. This type of filter is a good money-saving option for consumers. A type which is becoming popular in the current years is the HEPA filter which can remove about 99.97 percent pollutants in the air.

Since a ventilation filter needs to be kept clean and properly functioning, hire an HVAC technician for maintenance and necessary replacement.
